Where Luxury Meets the Sea
In the heart of Netanya’s Ir Yamim neighborhood, just minutes from the shoreline, stands an exceptional dream penthouse spanning 700 sqm. The residence was designed with a strong emphasis on modern, luxurious design, while still creating a warm and inviting sense of home. Every detail was carefully selected – from the material palette to the personal elements tailored specifically to the residents’ needs and lifestyle. Interior designer Dudu Cohen was entrusted with bringing this dream to life.
At the center of the residence is an open public space that brings together the living room, double kitchen and dining area, which features a five-meter-long table. All of these functions face the breathtaking sea view. The flooring in the main space is finished with natural stone tiles, adding warmth and depth to the home. The walls are adorned with cladding that combines natural and luxurious materials, with every design decision serving one clear purpose: to create an open, pleasant and accessible living atmosphere.
The penthouse includes striking design elements, including an elevated pool in the patio, which serves not only as a remarkable visual feature but also contributes to the home’s distinctive character. The advanced systems selected for the residence, including smart systems for managing lighting, heating and cooling, allow the residents full control throughout every part of the home.
Between Patio, Pool and Endless Views
The home was designed especially for a family with children, which required careful attention to the functionality of each room. Every space was planned with daily life in mind, with an emphasis on comfort, practicality and ease of use. The children’s rooms were designed with a personal style for each child, featuring furniture pieces that combine natural wood with calm tones, creating a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. Each bathroom was planned with durable materials, including marble and natural stone, suited for everyday use.
The sea is not only present beyond the panoramic windows – it is an integral part of the design itself. Each floor of the home was planned to feel spacious and filled with natural light, with every window facing the sea and allowing the residents to experience the view as part of the home. Even within the interior spaces, the feeling of the outdoors remains present – through the greenery surrounding the patio, the use of custom carpentry and the natural materials that connect the home to the Mediterranean way of life.
The materials chosen for the penthouse are an essential part of the home’s concept. Every piece of furniture, cabinet and table was carefully planned, using high-quality materials such as walnut wood and Italian marble. The goal was to create a space that would remain timeless and relevant over the years, while still feeling pleasant and comfortable for everyday living. Each room, from the bedrooms to the public spaces, is fitted with sophisticated lighting that adapts to the natural light entering the home, maintaining a changing, calming atmosphere throughout the day.
“This is a home where the sea is not merely a view beyond the window, but an integral part of the living experience.”
Luxury, Down to the Finest Details
“The penthouse in Netanya is an excellent example of the connection between modern aesthetics and family functionality. The home creates the perfect meeting point between luxury and comfort, while preserving a sense of warmth and intimacy,” explains interior designer Dudu Cohen.
The second floor of the penthouse, dedicated to the private living area, offers a luxurious yet highly functional design. A sculptural metal staircase leads between the rooms, positioned opposite an elevator that adds to the home’s modern character. Around the staircase are the couple’s home office and their daughter’s room, while each bedroom was designed as a separate master suite, complete with an en-suite bathroom.
A custom-built library was created in every bedroom. Interior designer Dudu Cohen made sure to conceal the screens in each room, preventing visual clutter and preserving the simplicity and calmness of the design.
The parents’ suite is designed in warm bronze and walnut tones, which dominate the custom carpentry, alongside powder-toned curtains that provide soft shading. Here too, as throughout the home, the curtains and linens were made in Israel by Ella Decor, led by Ella Shlomov, and were custom-tailored to the dimensions of the space. They play a significant role in shaping the softness and pleasant atmosphere of the home.
